Barcelona are set to clinch a permanent deal with Girona for striker Pau Victor who could be part of the first-team squad for next season.

Victor impressed last season on loan with Rafa Marquez’s side and finished the campaign as the team’s top scorer with 20 goals.

However, Barcelona opted not to take up a purchase option in his loan deal, meaning he has since returned to Girona.

Yet Barcelona have since been in talks with their local rivals and will sign Victor for around €3 million, according to Que Thi Jugues.

Victor will then train with the first team under Hansi Flick and could even be handed a place in the senior squad for the new campaign.

Flick is still shaping his squad for the new campaign with the future of several attackers in doubt such as Ansu Fati and Vitor Roque.

The German is also waiting to see if Barca land top target Nico Williams from Athletic Club.
