Barcelona’s Champions League schedule released, including Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich reunion

After the draw for the new Champions League format was made on Thursday, UEFA have released the full fixture list for the competition’s new League Phase which begins next month, and Barcelona now know their exact schedule in Europe’s top tournament.

The Blaugrana will kick things off on Thursday, September 19 with a trip to France to face AS Monaco in a rematch of this year’s Joan Gamper Trophy, which Monaco won in surprising fashion at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium.

The much-anticipated reunion of Hansi Flick with his former club Bayern Munich takes place on October 23 in the Catalan capital, and the trip to Borussia Dortmund to face the Yellow Wall is scheduled for December 11.

Barça finish the League Phase at home on January 29 against Europa League winners Atalanta, hoping to clinch a Top 8 spot to avoid the Playoffs and guarantee a spot in the Round of 16.
