Ref: La Liga´s Article 77 of the Standards for the Preparation of the Budgets of Clubs and SADs

ARTICLE 77. THE CASE OF AN EXTENDED INJURY OF A PLAYER

1. The Registrable Squad Cost Limit or registration capacity may be exceeded in a Season T by the same amount as the Cost of a new Player who is actually contracted by the Club/SAD and whose registration is requested within 30 calendar days of the date of injury of the Registrable Squad Player to be replaced who has suffered an injury and who is expected to be incapacitated for a duration of FOUR (4) months or more from the date of the injury and with the following limit on the said Cost:

The limit shall in any case be EIGHTY (80) PER CENT of the Cost of the injured Player, excluding the amortisation of their Federative Rights. This limitation is understood for each player who has suffered an injury under the conditions referred to during the season. The registration of the substitute player will not be accepted if the duration of their contract covers T+1 and/or following seasons and the Club/SAD does not have an Available Balance of the Squad Cost Limit or registration capacity for that season.

The amount of the maximum excess referred to in this article shall be pro-rated in proportion to the duration of the Season remaining since the registration of the player replacing the injured player.

2. The Player's injury and its expected duration must be accredited by a medical certificate issued by the La Liga Medical Committee, which accredits the duration of the injury.

3. The injured Player, without prejudice to the provisions of the relevant Competition standards, may not be re-enrolled in La Liga until the Club/SAD presents the Available Balance in the Limit on the Registrable Squad Cost, sufficient to cover the Cost of the Player.

4. The excess of the Limit or registration capacity provided for in this article may only be applied to the registration, as part of the Registrable Squad Cost, for the player contracted to replace the injured player.

N/B
Based on the above information, it is clear that Christensen was never deregistered in order for Olmo to be registered. He cannot play for Barça post injury until the club meets the criteria for re-enrollment, by creating enough margin in the wage structure for both players, by simply exchanging one for the other etc.
