Barcelona have been handed bad news on Dani Olmo’s hamstring injury after seeing the new signing go off against Girona on Sunday.
Hansi Flick admitted afterwards he was hoping it wasn’t a serious problem, but it’s now been confirmed he’ll have to cope without the Spain star for a little while.
Barcelona have issued a statement that reads as follows: “Tests conducted this morning on Dani Olmo have revealed that he has injured his right hamstring. He is expected to be unavailable for about 4 to 5 weeks.”

It’s a real blow for Olmo and Barcelona as the forward had enjoyed a great start to life back at Barcelona, scoring three goals in as many games.
Olmo will now miss fixtures against Villarreal, Getafe, Osasuna, Alaves and Sevilla in La Liga and is also likely to be a doubt for the first Clasico on Sunday, 27th October.
Flick will also have to cope with Olmo for Champions League ties against Monaco, Young Boys and possibly Bayern Munich too.
