Barcelona could be able to welcome Fermin Lopez back to the squad after injury in time for Thursday’s Champions League game against Monaco.

The Catalans have lost Dani Olmo to injury ahead of the game, with the new signing out for 4-5 weeks, but Mundo Deportivo report that Lopez is close to a comeback.

The youngster has been out since picking up a problem over the international break while on duty with Spain’s Under-21s.

Lopez is recovering quicker than expected and has a chance of making the squad. If he does miss it then it seems certain he will be available for the weekend’s trip to Villarreal.

Ansu Fati is also set to feature against Monaco and make his first appearance of the season after recovering from a foot injury.

Hansi Flick confirmed as much before the weekend’s trip to Girona. He told reporters: “Ansu? We are happy to have him back. He could be back next game.”
