Lamine Yamal was happy to talk about his team’s impressive 4-1 win over Girona after scoring twice for Barcelona on Sunday afternoon.
The teenager continued his superb form at Montilivi by putting Barca 2-0 up. His first came after he took the ball off David Lopez and the second was a cool shot from inside the area.
Yamal spoke to the media after the game and offered his insight into why they had been able to see off Girona so comfortably.
“Coming back from the national team is always difficult, but today we were very good. We’re already thinking about the next match,” he told Jijantes.
“The key has been to be direct. When we recover the ball we only think about scoring. This match was very important before the Champions League started.”
Pedri and Dani Olmo were also on target on another good day for Barca as Hansi Flick’s side maintained their perfect start to the new season.
